When you consider having a puppy, you ask yourself several questions. One of them is what will I do with him during the holidays? Well, I have to say, you can go on vacation with your dogs!
I had always imagined what it would be like to travel in a van, with the house on wheels, without plans, without direction. Well, as some of you know, this August we have achieved it! But dreams are dreams, the Volkswagen vintage it was a Nissan Evalia, the bed was an inflatable mattress that forced us to move all the luggage to the front seats, and the whole space became a Tetris with 8 long legs of two greyhounds. I understand that it is difficult for you to visualize it as a dream, but I assure you that for us everything was perfect.
We toured the French Pyrenees (beautiful!), small towns, roads buried in forests, and we visited some cities such as Huesca, Pamplona, San Sebastián and Bilbao. But if there was any objective in the trip, it was to see Peter and Nacho run free without danger.
Do you know those green meadows that you see from the car when you travel, and imagine how cool it would be to lie down, but you never stop? Well, those meadows are what we seek in our aimless journey. It was fabulous, for the van, to open the trunk, and see the greyhounds run away happy. They had a great time and were exhausted, and we enjoyed watching them.
From some other field a shepherd appeared out of nowhere who gestured us to leave, lest the greyhounds disturb the herd. Sheep and cows were a discovery for them, they were “very rare” dogs, even though some were the same color as Peter.
It has been a very positive experience and it has been fantastic to experience all together that feeling of freedom that is sometimes lost on a day-to-day basis.
And among all, we miss the Siamese twins and we met a little brother of Peter. The two of them looked at each other like someone looking into a mirror!
Remember,Where there is hair there is joy!
I leave you with song What else do we hear during this adventure on wheels?
